The posting schedule can be found here.

Posting Instructions

Leading up to their assigned posting day Authors and Artists need to communicate to get ready. I would like both Authors and Artist to make a Master Post at their journals (one for fic and one for art) and provide each other with the links.

For Authors I want a place on your journal people can go to be navigated to the fic (whether you decide to host in on your journal, on archive, or somewhere else).

For Artists we want you to have a post that you can get your own feedback at.

If you want an example of a story master post please look HERE. For art post you can format the way you like just make sure to include a link to the author’s story, like THIS.
(example used at sncross_bigbang)

Further instructions, please readCollapse )

If you aren’t sure how to do this (the coding, etc) or have any other questions please contact me through the comms email (hawaiibigbang@gmail.com) or private message. You can also always just leave a comment to this post as well!

Final fic drafts and art rough drafts (so you don't have to have the art complete but you do need to be able to show you have started and made progress on the art) are due September 15th give or take a few hours (or even a day, just get it in so I don't panic and send you frantic PMs please :D)

Please follow these instructions to submit your final fic and art drafts. This way we can know where people are and where to put them in the posting schedule (so authors and artists that are done will go towards the beginning, while ones that need a bit more time will be scheduled towards the end).

IF YOU AREN'T FINISHED DON'T WORRY! That is why we asked for you to tell us if its complete or not, we will try to work those people that need more time later on in the schedule.

If you can't turn anything in and want to drop out of the challenge email us or comment here to let us know ASAP.

CLAIMS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN!
Because we have significantly more artists than stories available any artist is welcome to claim a story and multiple claims will be accepted once both are claimed once! So please drop in and put your claim in. As soon as it is confirmed I'll send you your authors information.

Art drafts will not be due until September 15th, Posting will start on September 25th!.

It is now time for the Hawaii Five-0 Big Bang artist claims!

This year we only got 2 stories. Please browse through the information given by the authors and comment with the following to make your claim:

- Claimed stories will be struck out as they come in but make sure to check that someone hasn’t gotten the one you want.
- Once both stories have been claimed by one author we will allow multiple claims. So feel free to put in your selection even if it's already been claimed, chances are you still be able to do art for it!

22 July 2013 @ 12:13 am
Sorry for how late this is, my laptop screen broke so I am currently trying to work around it. I am going to go ahead and follow up with all the authors still signed up for the challenge and will base when claims are after I've heard from most or all of them (I want to aim for the 27th but they might end up being on August 3rd).

Please send in a rough draft as soon as you can if you want your summary to go into claims.

Ideally your rough draft needs to be more than 10,000 words and completed, however since these are rough drafts at least turn in 8,000 words with more than 80% of the fic done. We are willing to accept less and will only do so if the author is ABSOLUTELY sure they will finish the story by August 10th and they can give the artist enough to work with.

If you are not sure you will finish but want to keep trying you don’t need to drop out! We do have an option available, please read more about the Unofficial Track and see if that is something you’d like to do.

Please follow the instructions below when turning in your rough draft.

Email to:
hawaiibigbang@gmail.com

Subject line of email:
Rough Draft – Title - LJ Username

Body:

PLEASE KEEP THE CODING IN YOUR EMAIL!, we copy and paste this part into the claims and it’s really a pain to have to redo all the coding. The only things that will be taken out is the LJ username, percent complete, and current word count. Pay special attention to the summary because that is what artists will be using to claim a story so make sure to spell check it and be aware of the length (a sentence or two won't be enough for an artist to make a claim but claims are first come first served and an artist might overlook a huge block of text)

Then add your fic as an attachment, we would prefer it if you had it as an .doc but we can take .docx and .rtf. We will be the only ones to see your story, we just need it attached to vertify word count and structure.

Any questions about submitting your rough draft comment with them to this post and we will help you all we can.

Because it seems like it will benefit a lot of authors I have decided to extend the rough draft deadline to July 17th, 2013. Hopefully this will give everyone the time they need to finish up their stories to their satisfaction!

What this means is that the rest of the challenge schedule will be pushed back a bit. Here is the new one:

Rough drafts due – July 17th, 2013
Artist claims up – July 20th, 2013
Artist checkpoint (MANDATORY) – August 16th - August 23rd, 2012
Final fic and art due – September 9th, 2013
Posting schedule up – September 13th, 2013
Posting starts – September 20th, 2013

08 June 2013 @ 08:53 pm
Author sign ups are now closed!

This is the last checkpoint for the round! Rough drafts are due in a little over 2 weeks (instructions about how to turn them in will be up next week) but there is still time to write so don't panic just yet.

Here is how the checkpoint works. We are keeping a spreadsheet on the authors, including the current word count. Comment to the post with the below filled out. Please don’t skip any portions. Some explanation - type refers to gen, slash, or het, and you only have to share as much as you want to.

Username:
Characters/Pairings/Type:
Current Word Count:
What I Like About the Story:
What I Don’t Like About the Story:
Anything Else: (personal issues that are making it hard to write, need someone to read through what you have and give feedback, need to rant a little?)

If you are writing more than one story please fill out one of these for both.

Also, this isn't mandatory at all so if you don't check in you won't be dropped from the challenge. Its really just a great way for authors to stay on track and talk about their story with others :D

We are now half way through the challenge so hopefully stories are coming along great! Remember, sign ups are still open if you want to jump in.
